The Kewpie doll, which is very popular among collectors of antiques, made its debut in Dec 1909. Over five million of the googly-eyed dolls were sold, made from different materials. The appeal of the Kewpie dolls lies in their innocent appearance, serving as a nostalgic reminder of an earlier era.
