Lia Cook: material allusions

Article Abstract:

Weaver Lia Cook incorporates elements of painting in her tapestry. She uses a multi-harness loom to depict images of drapery borrowed from classical paintings. Thus the textile evokes folded cloth as well as parts of human figures to create dramatic compositions.
