Live from "Mountain Stage."

For the past 18 years, West Virginia Public Broadcasting has broadcast a weekly live radio program called "Mountain Stage" featuring music of all types, but focusing on acoustic and grass-roots music. Some of the more than 1000 artists who have featured on the program have included Sheryl Crow, Lyle Lovett, Elvis Costello, Joan Baez and the Counting Crows.

A garden worth the wait

The North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, NC is now open to the public after 10 years of planting. The 426-acre garden contains themed areas with their specific type of plants and flowers. Frederic Law Olmstead, the father of landscape architecture, had proposed an arboretum in North Carolina more than 100 years ago.

Spinning spokes at Tsali

Nantahala National Forest's Tsali Recreation Area in western North Carolina is a favorite destination among cyclists. While some cyclists bring their own bikes and study maps, others use rented bikes and join the guided tours at Nantahala Outdoor Center.
