Maple syrup in the Southern states can be made as good as any in the Northern states. The Oregon Ridge Nature Center in Baltimore County, MD, makes maple syrup each February to demonstrate the technique. The demonstration culminates in a fundraising event, the Annual Pancake Breakfast.
