Article Abstract:
Saving seeds is a valuable act and a powerful insurance in an uncertain world, as it preserves the past and is a link to the future. Hence, the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Royal Botanic Gardens have initiated the Millennium Seed Bank Project, which has collected the seeds of the whole flora of the United Kingdom and intends to gather seed from 10 percent of the seed-bearing plants around the world by 2010.
