Repotting a container-grown tree
Article Abstract:
Repotting of container trees and shrubs is necessary to keep the plants from becoming root-bound. Trees should be replanted in the spring and the plant should be carefully removed from the pot to cause the minimum of shock and damage. The root crown of the tree should be two inches below the top of the pot.

Growing & harvesting garlic

Garlic is planted in the late fall, approximately 4 to 6 weeks before the soil freezes. A raised bed helps to avoid rotting from water saturation, and chicken wire lining keeps gophers away. In spring, the bulbs need a high nitrogen fertilizer.
