Sang-Oh Kwon: Korean master
Article Abstract:
Sang-Oh Kwon, a Korean master adapted the East Asian practice of dry natural lacquer for the 21st century and although he employs wood for some of his vessel and sculptures, in most the base is carved Styrofoam to which he applies layers of mulberry paper and then hemp cloth with rice glue and lacquer. Kwon's specialty for which he has earned reputation in Korea is his mastery of textual additives, which can be appreciated alone or in combination with surface embellishment.

Article Abstract:
Agee's residency at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, WI, was a creative experience for her. She created ceramic pieces depicting company employees. She was also inspired to incorporate bathrooms into her work, as Kohler makes plumbing fixtures.
