Nora Naranjo-Morse: mud woman

Native-American artist Nora Naranjo-Morse has synthesized ethnic and modern art forms in her clay figures. Her favorite figure is the comic depiction of a corpulent woman, Pearlene, who represents the modern Native American. Morse also creates works depicting the marginalization of her people.
