Speed indicators
Article Abstract:
Machines in the 19th century were powered by an engine or rotor, and speed indicators were needed to maintain a consistent pace. Fluctuations would result in lower productivity or unnecessary wear on parts. Electronic tachometers have made speed indicators obsolete.
