Steven Glass: Chance and control
Article Abstract:
American artist Steven Glass, potter at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, since 1982 and known for flamboyant, sculptural vessels with colorful, painterly surfaces presented his works at the Camberwell College of Arts, in London that titled 'In and Out of the Flame'. He demonstrates his works of vessel fired in an electric kiln with similar wood-fired vessel that examined his personal encounter with the aesthetic and technical adjustments inherent in the two firing methods.

Mark Shapiro

An exhibition was conducted at the Lacoste Gallery, Concord, Massachusetts, from October 9-27, 2004. Mark Shapiro, a potter who makes affordable ceramics for everyday use presented his works at the exhibition, which included 65 objects of his new works, ranging from tiny cups to generous and substantial platters and jars.
