Medical statistician Jane Wadsworth began her working life as a computer programmer, and later worked at the Institute for Social Studies in Medical Care in London, England. She became lecturer in medical statistics at St Mary's Hospital Medical School in Paddington, London, England, in 1983, and played a key role in several clinical studies there. She had a detailed knowledge of statistical techniques, but was particularly interested in assisting younger colleagues and clinicians.
