Close-ups of several trees' bark in winter show their wide range of color, consistency and form. Examples include the winter bark of paperbark maple, canoe birch, dawn redwood, Chinese lacebark pine, Tatarian dogwood, and white-stemmed blackberry.

Window gardens

Photographs of several types of window boxes are presented. Gardeners should make sure that window boxes are held in place securely, and they should remove old plants or add winter plants after the weather gets cold.
