Late-blooming lilacs

Lilacs now exist as thousands of cultivars because of the hybridization of the common purple Syringa vulgaris. The late-blooming varieties have a lighter fragrance that is compensated by the number of blossoms per shrub. They require full sun and prefer organically rich soil.
