A drive on the Natchez Trace Mississippi offers travelers a unique glimpse into Southern history. The route, which was used by tradesmen, trappers, missionaries, soldiers and vagabonds, is a picturesque drive with views of the Ross Barnett Reservoir and shops such as the Mississippi Crafts Center.

Saga of the singing brakeman

In 1927 Jimmie Rodgers, a former train brakeman, recorded his first song. On his death in 1933, he made history by becoming the first musician to be inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame. His legacy is preserved in the Jimmie Rodgers Museum in Meridian, MS.
