American decoys

Article Abstract:

Decoys, or carved models of birds that entice undomesticated flocks, were an indispensable tool for North American hunters during the early 1900's. They were deemed necessary until the banning of gun trade in 1918. Today, they are viewed as American artifacts.

The article describes that reading musical notation that is not a criterion to be able to sing. On the contrary using just hymnals preserved traditional American music besides extending the joys of singing to all.
