Art Van's new look rolls on

Art Van Furniture Inc's new 62,000-sq-ft store in Traverse City, MI, its 27th outlet, boasts of ceramic tile, a two-level glass atrium entrance and lighting and other special features. According to Art Van Elslander, the CEO of the Top 100 furniture store chain, the new Traverse City store was built after a lot of research and thought. The new outlet, run by manager Bob McQueen, also features a Clocks & Curios department, Kid's Castle play area and upsholtery gallery department, among others.

Levitz set to lease warehouse space in 3 stores
Article Abstract:
Levitz are renovating three of its stores to eliminate through-the- warehouse walkways into showrooms. The furniture retailer is leasing the warehouse part of the stores to other retail tenants to give the stores a more modern look. Consumers benefity by having direct access to the showrooms, while the company expects the renovated stores to result in lower occupancy costs, less inventory and added traffic from the other retailers.
