The Canadian furniture exports to the U.S. fell by 10.7% in 2003. The competition from Chinese furniture manufacturers and the rising Canadian dollar, which strengthened from 61 cents U.S. in 2002 to 71 cents in 2003 are the reasons behind the fall in exports.
