Citicorp Venture Capital Ltd's planned purchase of a majority interest in the Sears HomeLife chain would boost its retail presence. The New York, NY-headquartered investment fund's portfolio of furniture makers, Futorian, Chromcraft Revington and LifeStyle, posted consolidated furniture sales of around $2.2 billion in 1998, accounting for 10% of the total US furniture production.
