A new breed of American glassmakers is responsible for the emergence of a range of modern paperweights that feature exquisite art work. Among these craftsmen are Charles Kaziun and Rick Ayotte of Massachusetts, Paul Stankard of Mantua, NJ, twins Jon and David Trabucco who learned the craft from their father, and father and daughter Delmo and Debbie Tarsitano.

Romantic or American scenery printed on tea and dinner wares in the early to mid-19th century is very popular among collectors. Some collect an entire dinner service of different patterns but in one color, most commonly blue, while others look for a particular color with no single pattern in mind.

Antique American paperweights
Article Abstract:
Antique paperweights increase in value yearly owing to the difficulty involved in producing these glassware items. Three Massachusetts factories produced most American paperweights, their products matching the quality of paperweights made in France, where the craft prospered around 1845.
