Deal would boost High Point market
Article Abstract:
Vornado Realty Trust is a welcomed player in the showroom business in High Point as it brings in a strong brand in the form of Merchandise Mart, which it acquired in April 1998. The entry of an established company such as Vornado into High Point is also significant, considering its expertise in trade shows. The company should see good potential in its purchase of Market Square, although the buildings it will acquire have little or no vacant space. Vornado will become the second-largest showroom owner when it obtains Market Square, which has around 1 million sq ft of floor space.
