Delft tiles made by Dutch were owned rich families in colonial America in 18th century for decorating their fireplaces since they were tough and easy to clean. Delft tiles which bore pictures of beers to sailing ships to bible scenes never went out of style and have remained in vogue in America and even presently are relished collectibles.
