Eaton's sets second furniture store
Article Abstract:
Eaton's, a Canadian department store chain, is slated to open a second free-standing home furnishing outlet in the Place d'Orleans shopping center in Ottawa, Ontario, in August 1998. The decision came after the company opted to phase out furniture at 20 of its 64 stores in the country before spring 1999. The retailer also intends to exit the appliances and electronics categories by early 1999 as it concentrates on transforming into a destination for furniture and bedding at the 21 remaining furnishings stores.
