The resigning of Atlanta based Rhodes Furniture President and CEO Steve Fishman to become the top executive at closeout retailer Big Lots is discussed. The planning of Rhodes to make its veteran chief financial officer, Joel Dugan, to replace him as CEO and president to complete the filing of its Chapter 11 reorganization plan is also discussed.

Rhodes liquidators ready

Article Abstract:

With Atlanta-based furniture chain Rhodes having filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to close its five distribution centers and the 26 stores, the liquidation sales that would be generated by the Great American Group along with Hilco Merchant Resources, Gordon Bros. Retail Partners and Zimmer-Hester Furniture Liquidators are examined.
