IHFMA's Barentine to retire; High in line
Article Abstract:
International Home Furnishings Marketing Association's (IHFMA) CEO, Richard Barentine, who is expected to retire in August 1999, will be succeeded by Nancy High, a longtime executive of the furniture industry. Barentine has led the organization, the perennial sponsor of the furniture markets that are held twice a year in High Point, NC, for the past two decades. High, who is expected to continue serving as the American Furniture Manufacturers Association's director of marketing services, will become an executive director of IHFMA on Jan. 1, 1999, and assume Barentine's position upon his retirement.

Kincaid thanks all employees with event

Kincaid Furnitures celebrated its Employee Appreciation Day at the new La-Z-Boy office complex in Hudson, NC. The event, which brought together all of the furniture maker's 1,300 employees, the first companywide celebration of the annual event, also featured an appearance by NASCAR's only female driver, Patty Moise, whose race car is sponsored by the company. Steve Kincaid, the company's president, said that the first companywide celebration of the Employee Appreciation Day is a testament to how much the firm has grown.
