Language barrier can be problem on production lines

For many Taiwanese and Chinese-owned furniture manufactures having operations in Vietnam, in spite of the availability of inexpensive labor, land and talented workforce, communication problems remain a major hurdle for carrying smooth operations. The efforts of the companies in hiring translators to bridge the communication gap are analyzed.

School would train furniture workers

The Handicraft and Wood Industry Assn. (HAWA) of Ho Chi Minh City plans to set up a training school to impart training furniture production, finishing and design to its members. It is seeking financial support from its 250 members for setting up the school.
