After a summer of inactivity, there is an upswing in the leather industry, marked by fresh entrants into the market, new ideas, and enhanced offerings from leather manufacturers. Italian leather upholstery manufacturer Soft Line unveiled a new collection of Italian seating; Natuzzi opened an independently owned retail store in Dallas; and the Chinese-based, Italian-owned DeCorro announced its plans for public offering in Hong Kong.

Italy's eleganza begins shipping to U.S.

Together, under the Eleganza brand, the group of three high-end upholstery manufacturers from Italy's Forli region began shipping its first orders to U.S. retailers in March 2004. They offer a versatile, upscale, special-order product and have established themselves as a custom producer with personalized service.
