Luxury fare in the family way
Article Abstract:
Karl's of Philadelphia, PA, a four-story retail establishment that was built in 1920, has relied both on tradition and innovation for its continued success. The 30,000-sq-ft facility, started by Simon and Florence Richman, is now under the guidance of Adam Richman, a third-generation owner who still rely on the help of his brothers, mother, uncle, sister and wife in operating the establishment. Richman, however, is also daring enough to try out new ideas to promote the store, including the implementation of the highly successful "Uncle Alan's Lucky Dates" promotional concept.
