Rest. Hardware stock takes off
Article Abstract:
Upscale home furnishings retailer Restoration Hardware has sold 3.33 million of its 16.1 million common shares during its $63-million initial public stock offering for debt payment and funding of expansion of the company's 47-store chain. Restoration Hardware's shares were reflective of a strong market value, compared to the falling market, as investors banked on the company's solid reputation, rising sales, consistent profits and prospects for continued rapid growth. Proceeds from the IPO, which amounted to $49.1 million, will be used for reducing outstanding debt by $28 million and the remaining amount for funding the company's expansion program.
