Retailers draw line between MSRP use, abuse
Article Abstract:
Furniture retailers are split as to whether the use of manufacturers' suggested retail prices (MSRPs) should be discontinued. Some retailers want to eliminate MSRPs because of legal risks that may stem from the improper use of them. Those who are reluctant to discontinue MSRPs argue that some type of honest benchmark for assessing value should first be established before totally eliminating MSRPs.
