Rooms To Go will add as many as 18 stores

Rooms To Go of Steffner, FL, intends to add from 17 to 18 new outlets in the coming 12 to 18 months. The furniture store, also the owner of Rooms To Go Kids outlets, plans to establish new stores in Japan, Puerto Rico, Florida, Atlanta, GA, and in the Carolinas. Rooms To Go, whose total outlets will increase to 83 or 84 when the new locations are built, has also decided to move the establishment of a new location in Dallas, TX, that will incorporate a Rooms To Go Kids outlet, to 2000 instead of in 1999 as originally planned.

Levitz readies Phoenix prototype

Levitz will open a 45,000-sq-ft store in Phoenix, AZ, which will become the prototype of the company's future stores. According to the company's chairman and chief executive officer, Michael Bozic, the new store will replace one of the oldest stores in 90-store chain. The new store will be located on the 75th Avenue across the street from the Desert Sky Mall, beside PetsMart and Staples. Bozic said that the new store will feature a more open layout with the products displayed basically in lifestyle vignettes and collections.
