Percy Mann's farmhouse in Scituate, MA, has been restored by the Scituate Historical Society. Mow known as The Mann Farmhouse and Historical Museum, Mann let his historic farmhouse deteriorate and refused to pay tax in retaliation for the taking of his gravel pit by eminent domain.

Shoes and shoemaking

Several books provide insights on shoes and shoemaking during the colonial period. Materials commonly used were leather, seal skins, pelts from rabbits and snake skins. Some of these books include 'An Improved Method of Tanning Leather in 1777' and 'The Colonial Craftsman.'

300 years of the Winslow house

The Winslow family in Marshfield, MA, was instrumental in the progress of the town, which up to now relishes the peacefulness and beauty it enjoyed 300 years ago. The town was founded in the early 1600 by Edward Winslow, one of the signers of the historic Mayflower Compact.
