Vietnam makes strides but has a ways to go

Furniture exports from Vietnam to United States and Europe are increasing, but the industries in Vietnam should take steps to pick up quality. The country can become a threat to Chinese furniture industry in the future if it can improve its furniture quality.

Brazil exporters face 'real' challenge

Many furniture factories in Brazil will be hit by the growing Brazilian real, which makes Brazilian companies' exports to United States more costly. Brazilian currency real has gained 19 percent to be at 2.605 per U.S. dollar when compared with May 2004.

Group aims to link small stores with China

The details of the program, launched at the Las Vegas furniture market in late July, by the CBT Group, a 19-year-old furniture export buying group, is discussed. The program is meant to help the small retailers to import directly from China.
