An eye for radiation hazards, part1
Article Abstract:
Long exposure to intense ultraviolet or ultra red radiation can damage the eyes and cause cataracts to develop. Work place sources of these types of radiation include lasers, blast furnaces, welding equipment and arc lamps. Employees can protect their eyes from damage by always wearing safety glasses or goggles.

With almost 1000 traffic deaths in the United Kingdom attributable to at work drivers, the Work-related Safety Task Force is looking into what causes company vehicle drivers to be in accidents and what safety regulations need to in place to protect them and other drivers.

The Industry Committee for Emergency Lighting has set new standards for emergency lighting that comply with British law. The new standards require higher levels of luminescence in some instances but new safety lighting fixtures generally exceed those levels.
