Basically safe?

Article Abstract:

Poor levels of literacy and numeracy of adults in the UK have caused major difficulty in the participation of health and safety at work. Poorly educated or immigrant workers generally gravitate to unskilled, low-paid work and many are unable to understand written health and safety instructions, so unwittingly endanger themselves and their co-workers.

Isolated workers need safety training

Article Abstract:

A survey for the Suzy Lamplugh Trust has found that one in ten thousand workers have suffered some form of violence by members of the public during their working day. About 10% of all nurses, health visitors, housing officers and social workers are physically attacked while trying to do their job.
