Benefits: where are we headed?

Article Abstract:

Trends pertaining to employee benefits are presented. Employee benefits play an important factor in job selection and their implementation influences employee satisfaction and understanding about benefit programs. However, the current viability of small businesses due to economic conditions mean that many employees are without benefits since these are rarely provided by small businesses. This results in pressure for the government to take action to provide health care to the workforce. Meanwhile, employer-supported retirement programs provide potential retirees with hope for their future.
