Comment on Hum and Simpson
Article Abstract:
A commentary on Derek Hum and Wayne Simpson's comparative study of five income maintenance experiments conducted in the US and Canada is presented. Specifically, the experiments examined the effects of negative income tax or Guaranteed Annual Income Programs on labor supply. Hum and Simpson's conclusion that negative income tax payments produced insignificant adverse consequences was refuted.
