The role of imperfect information in prescription drug cost containment
Article Abstract:
A case study on the means by which employers can induce important behavioral changes in employees to lessen the cost of prescription drug purchases has revealed the value of certain low-cost and easy behavior modifications. Through collective gathering of needed information, its circulation aming employees and creating incentives employers can cause changes in employee behavior regarding drug purchase. However, study results can only be generalized within a specific subgroup although the same education and incentives could lead to similar long-term cost savings.
