Fourteen years of sex discrimination in denial of partnership

Article Abstract:

The decision of Leeds employment tribunal in the case of Landless v. Roland Robinson & Fentons is discussed. Mrs. Landless, a qualified solicitor, who was married to Mr. Landless, a senior partner of the Roland Robinson, was denied partnership rights in the firm. Tribunal found that Mrs. Landless was treated less favorably than her comparator, Mr. Newell, and hence there was sex discrimination. Tribunal also found that Mrs. Landless was discriminated against on the grounds of her marital status.
