How to Keep from Getting Burned on an Outside Seminar
Article Abstract:
A few simple guidelines will assist management in determining which business seminars it should have its employees participate in. A manager should not be misled by an impressive brochure. A complete brochure should contain detailed information concerning the leaders and speakers, the agenda, the method(s) of instruction and the target audience. A manager should contact the seminar sponsor if additional information is required. A manger might want to speak with previous participants of the seminar. Finally, management should look into the learning environment of a seminar, and the methods of instruction. Handout materials should be provided participants for later perusal. A conference center equipped for presentations provides a better environment than a hotel. A manger should be wary of a seminar organizer who is unwilling to provide any of this information.

It utilizes a 'sports medicine' approach and has recommendations on virtually every aspect of this problem. The proper application of these policies may well prevent aggravated back disabilities.
