Job-person-match
Article Abstract:
Matching jobs with people can be very difficult because often people end up in positions where they are not productive or motivated. The Job-Person-Match (JPM) Four Factor theory, which emphasizes matching required behaviors of a job with employee preferred behaviors, is a new approach to hiring employees. Instead of emphasizing job descriptions, managers work to define requirements of positions and to locate people who possess preferred skills which parallel job requirements. Some behaviors that are typically analyzed include task involvement, service to others, and leadership style. The JPM benefits individual employees, but it also benefits entire organizations. To be successful, however, organizations must work to integrate aspects of the JPM process in all areas including: training; development; reward systems; and career planning.

Classroom learning techniques for on-the-job trainers
Article Abstract:
Classroom trainers and on-the-job trainers should work as a team to coordinate efforts. Both types of trainers need to define and agree on materials, resources, time frames, goals, and policies so that the employees they train do not get confused about what the organization's objectives are.
