Medical care
Article Abstract:
The increased presence of multinational firms in Mexico has brought about greater demand for medical insurance. However, Mexican insurance firms also face increased competition from multinational insurance companies. Mexico's health care plans are similar to international standards and cover the following costs: hospitalization, doctors' and nurses' fees, medicine, laboratory tests, ambulance services and Caesarean delivery. The benefits of having a health insurance plan are discussed, such as tax deductibility and its role in developing the health care industry.

Article Abstract:
Hospitalization plans have enjoyed popularity since the 1960s and an increased demand for outpatient and long-term care plans have emphasized the need for it. Employers mostly pay for employees' hospitalization plan and receives a tax deduction for it. Outpatient treatment plans, however, are not tax-deductible. A social security system budget problem arising from increased claims for disability and health has shifted a substantial amount of claims on private insurance companies.
