Remuneration

Article Abstract:

Employee compensation in Singapore is continually adapting to global trends and economic conditions both in and out of the country. These compensation changes need to be attuned to the different needs of its workforce based on age and skill sets as well as on business objectives. An example of wage reform is the concept of variable pay which was introduced by the 1985 Economic Committee report. The flexible wage system implemented the pay-for-performance principle wherein employees were compensated based on individual performance and company profitability.

Remuneration

Article Abstract:

Remuneration practices in Sweden are expected to change in the next few years, since remuneration programs will not be enough to fulfill the requirements of a skilled and competent workforce, given the maintenance of domestic coordination on a nationwide basis. Changes should focus on restructuring the welfare programs, decreasing the social security based retirement benefits, and improving the public sector to achieve a balance in the State budget and decrease income tax.

Remuneration in the Czech Republic

Article Abstract:

Foreign firms operating in the Czech Republic have considered remuneration strategies for tapping into the Czech market to meet labor demand. Such strategies must be well-planned since quality candidates are also enticed by offers from multinational corporations. Wage and salary levels must be set at competitive rates. Managers of foreign corporations should likewise monitor their operations in other countries and their impact on Czech employment.
