Social security in Poland

Article Abstract:

The social security system for the elderly and disabled of Poland was investigated. It was found that 27% of Poland's net disposable income had been reserved for social security but management of resources had been found to be inefficient and irresponsible, mainly because of unrealistic aims. The pension scheme lack a workable framework for implementation. The reform of the pension system would facilitate transition from the non-market economy of Poland to a market economy. Pension funds in other countries played an important role in the accumulation of capital, a thing Poland badly needs.

Investing in Latin America - is there life after devaluation?

Article Abstract:

The Clinton administration's $53 billion financial package could help Mexico recover from its weak cash position. The availability of US government funds to Mexico could attract another wave of investors, but it will likely take some time before positive results are achieved. Additionally, an influx of fresh capital is not the appropriate solution to the liquidity problem. Mexico will have to slowly accumulate its foreign reserves and per capita income to regain financial viability.
