Art historian Leah Byrne works for the charity Contemporary Arts Society Projects and helps corporations to raise the profile of their buildings. The charity helps clients acquire art works by living artists to adorn the walls of their offices. Byrne has to work closely with building contractors, architects and artists when choosing art works for new buildings. Clients include Glaxo Wellcome, Bupa and Pearl Assurance.

The TUC's campaign against work-related upper limb disorders (WRULDs) is to be extended for a further year. It is claimed that 500,000 people suffer from WRULDs every year, costing over 1 billion pounds sterling annually. The campaign has already been run for one year, however, there is still much confusion to be tackled. The TUC aims to develop local and workplace campaigns against repetitive strain injury.

Political opposition in the Philippines to the regime of Ferdinand Marcos is assessed. The opposition is not responding to Marcos' liberal gestures, but it is leaderless. The Catholic Church is capable of uniting the opposition, but it is divided.
