Stockholm summit builds on Lisbon targets

Article Abstract:

Raising the employment rate and increasing the proportion of employed women in the European Union were the goals set out in the Lisbon Summit of the European Council in March 2000. These goals were discussed by the European Council in their Stockholm annual spring summit in March 2001.

The French Senate's amendment to the Labour Code to allow employed women to work at night is discussed. Additional information on the new labor legislation is also included.
