Article Abstract:

A number of employee benefit-related surveys were conducted in the US and UK. Results show that about 64% of US employers support work/life and diversity programs while 50% believe that these programs reduce absenteeism. A growing number of firms are also establishing formal bonus and reward programs. On the other hand, Hymans Robertson has published its 1996 survey of UK pension fund investment managers.

Article presents highlights of Mercer Human Resource Consulting's "2002 Spotlight on Benefits Report." Accordingly, the survey examined the benefit programs of almost 1,000 large organizations in the United States by industry and geographic region.
