Sweden: increase in funding for safety delegates
Article Abstract:
The 2004 Sweden government budget has provided for an extra 3.3 million euros to finance an increase in the number of full-time regional safety delegates. The then conservative government discontinued the system and the number of regional and plant-level safety delegates was reduced considerably.

Swedish government and companies are trying to find ways of increasing working life of elderly employees. Social policy initiatives and individual company programmes to extent work life are discussed.
