Managed care has not been successful and health care costs have become uncontrollable. One of two options, in light of the current social, political and economic milieu, is an aggressive and global employer health benefits redesign that forcefully encourages consumer-driven behavior.

The employer's case for health management
Article Abstract:
Employers tried to reduce health benefit costs by trying to shift costs to employees. This has affected employee recruitment as well as retention. An alternate method of improving health of employees by implementing health management programs is suggested.
