A study of trust in Japanese-American joint ventures
Article Abstract:
A study on the effects of contract wording on perceived levels of trust in US-Japanese joint venture businesses is discussed. Results of the survey indicate that a higher level of trust exists in US companies having detailed and complete joint venture contracts with Japanese companies. However, the contract exerts a lesser effecton the perception of trust among Japanese businessmen. Japanese assess trust bylooking at the relationship in general.
