The once and future health care market
Article Abstract:
Various networks of hospitals, insurers, employers and health care providers have sprung up in response to the unsuccessful attempt to enact health care reform in 1994. How these networks respond to impending economic and regulatory developments will do much to shape the future delivery and funding of health care. Rising numbers of uninsured Americans, and the inadequacy of health care coverage for many of those who do have it, are major problems. Employers have a strong potential to influence networks to control costs.
